Mythili Hazarika, the President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), in her article, titled “Gender issues” in today’s The Assam Tribune wrote about the successful transformation from ‘she’ to ‘he’ of an individual from the state of Assam following sex reassignment surgery, as well as the legal and social scenario aftermath.

Editor-in-Chief of the Open Journal of Psychiatry & Allied Sciences (OJPAS®), Shyamanta Das chaired a session and presented a symposium in the 70th Annual National Conference of the Indian Psychiatric Society (ANCIPS 2018) held at the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi from 5 to 8 February.
With Bhavesh M Lakdavala, Shyamanta chaired the Free Paper Session 2 at Hall B from 0800 to 0900 hours on 6 February. With Simanta Talukdar, Shyamanta presented the symposium, “Transiliences in psychiatry: from phrenology to brainology” at Hall F from 0900 to 1000 hours on 8 February.
