ARCANA SoMHiL

With the signing of a memorandum between ECHO India and MONON, ARCANA SoMHiL was launched on 15th October 2020.

The ARCANA SoMHiL hub will train interns from Graduates , Masters and Doctorates in Mental Health issues. The first batch of 2020 was kickstarted by the President of Society for Mental Health in LAMIC countries, Dr. Mythili Hazarika on Introduction to basics , history taking, mental status evaluation to arriving at a diagnosis with a didactic /case based/ interactive approach. The batch consisted of 26 students from all over India.

Webinar on ‘Redefining Mental Health and Wellness in Youth’

The Electrical Engineering Department of Assam Engineering College organised a webinar on ‘Redefining mental health and wellness in youth’ which was attended by the students and faculties. Mythili Hazarika, President of Society of Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL) was invited as a resource person to address the webinar.

Global Psychiatry: A LAMIC Perspective – IV

In the fourth event of the webinar series, ‘Global Psychiatry: A LAMIC Perspective”, Unaiza Niaz spoke on “COVID-10 handing in Pakistan: sustained efforts to contain crises and improve economy”. It is an initiative of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), as part of MONON: Assam Cares (https://www.ojpas.com/ojpas-2020-07-27-fulltext.html), in collaboration with ECHO India. Editorial Board Member of the Open Journal of Psychiatry & Allied Sciences (OJPAS®), Unaiza Niaz’s session was moderated by Samrat Singh Bhandari, the Associate Editor of OJPAS®.

World Mental Health Day observed

Dr. Bornali Das, Secretary of Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL) alongwith Dr. Mythili Hazarika, President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL) and Shyamanta Das, the Editor-in-Chief of OJPAS® organised a debate competition and webinar on World Mental Health Day. Prof. Kalpana Sarathy and her TISS team were crucial in making the event a grand success.
